Annadaanam, derived from the Sanskrit words "anna" (food) and "daanam" (donation), is a highly revered Indian tradition of offering food. It is regarded as one of the highest forms of charity.
At the Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple of Austin, the Annadanam program serves maha prasadam to devotees at no cost. Thousands of devotees visit the temple on Thursdays, and your contributions to this noble cause help provide food/prasadam to these devotees.
Those who donate to Annadanam on Thursdays will have the opportunity to participate in special Baba sevas, including:
• Baba Abhishekam
• Changing the clothes of Baba
• Holding the Chamara during Harathi
• Baba Archna
Additionally, their names will be displayed on the whiteboard outside the kitchen (Prasadam area).
Please contact Srinivas Madala / Prasadam volunteering team at prasadam@saiaustin.org if you would like any special food to be cooked and served. Please note that there may be an additional cost for special food requests.
